Fruit and Vegetable Processing and Preservation

• Fresh fruits (litchi, longan, grapes): Soaked in a low-concentration sodium metabisulfite solution before transportation. It extends the storage period by inhibiting microbial reproduction and enzymatic browning (e.g., the freshness period of grapes can be extended by 3-5 days).
• Dried fruit and vegetable products (raisins, dried mangoes): Added during processing to maintain the original color of the pulp and prevent browning (e.g., the residual sulfur dioxide content in raisins must be controlled to ≤0.2 g/kg).

Water Treatment Industry (Core Application Scenario)

• Drinking water dechlorination: Used in water treatment plants to remove residual chlorine after chlorination disinfection, preventing residual chlorine from reacting with organic substances to produce harmful by-products such as trihalomethanes.
• Industrial wastewater treatment:
  • Heavy metal removal: Reduces hexavalent chromium, mercury, and other heavy metal ions in wastewater, converting them into low-toxicity precipitates (e.g., reducing the chromium content to ≤0.05 mg/L in electroplating wastewater treatment).

• Bleaching auxiliary: After hydrogen peroxide bleaching of cotton and linen fabrics, it removes residual oxidants to prevent fabric yellowing and fiber damage.
